An up and coming musician can rocket to the top of the charts with one hit, and then seemingly disappear with the next for no apparent reason. In short, the world of country music today is about as chaotic and messy as the lap last of a NASCAR race at Talladega, it’s hard to know what’s going to happen.
Dirt and gravel go flying, as sirens wail behind a speeding jet black car. Moonshine jars rattle around in the back seat, and sweat covers the drivers face. One sharp turn down a country road and suddenly… silence. The bootlegger has lost the pursuing revenuers, at least for the time being. He slowly puts his sedan back in drive and continues on his way. This was the life of a bootlegger, and this is how the story of NASCAR and Junior Johnson started.
There is very little in the world that makes me as happy as an Alan Jackson song blasting on a truck radio. I firmly believe that if everyone in the world sat down and listened to their daily dose of Alan Jackson that the world would be a much better place. Seriously, doctors should start prescribing folks the mustached country legend’s music as medicine for any and all ailments, the stuff is that good.
